신승규 현대차그룹 부사장은 31일 전북특별자치도청에서 열린 '전북도·현대차 투자협약 이행 점검 회의' 이후 기자들과 만나"그룹 내에 (새만금 9조원 투자를 뒷받침할) 전문 조직이 생겼다"고 밝혔다.
해당 전문 조직은 전체 인원 40명에 임원급 3명이 포함된 'RH(로봇·하이드로겐) PMO(프로젝트관리기구)'이다.
신 부사장은 "투자를 위해 (그룹 내에) 이런 대규모 조직을 만든 것은 처음이다"며 "내년부터는 실제 착공에 들어가야 하는데 착공 전 설계 과정을 올해 안으로 진행할 것"이라고 강조했다.
현대차는 올해부터 2029년까지 새만금 지역에 9조원을 단계적으로 투자해 인공지능(AI)·로봇·에너지를 아우르는 혁신성장거점을 구축하겠다는 프로젝트를 발표한 바 있다.
그는 "전북 새만금에 신재생에너지가 풍부하다는 것을 알고 투자를 결정했다"며 "신재생에너지가 결국 태양광인데,바카라 딜러 디시태양광 시설이 효율적으로 건설돼서 필요한 전력을 충분히 받을 수 있으면 좋겠다"고 했다.
